We Support One Another

Blue Star Mothers partner with many organizations to provide continuous support to veterans in our community and to respond to needs as they arise.

We are proud to support the NEADS program, also known as Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans, by visiting and providing meals for Veterans during his or her training at the NEADS facility in Princeton, MA.

Cindy Thompson is a U.S. Army Veteran and she is pictured here with her Service Dog for hearing, Vali. They became an ADI certified NEADS team in December 2021. She was thrilled to be featured on our website and stated “after meeting Kathy and Michelle, I returned home to North Carolina and joined my local BSM chapter. She has two sons that are active duty service members.

She is also the Team Mom for the United States Air Force Thunderbirds, an elite flight team of which her son, a pilot, is a member. Vali is the only NEADS dog ever to be named a Thunderdog, an honorary member of the Thunderbirds!

We, as mothers of service members and veterans understand how military service impacts our families. We support each other and we support families of the fallen.

The Blue to Gold Program honors our Fallen Military Heroes and supports our Gold Star Families. We partner with the military casualty officer assigned to pay tribute and visit with families during their time of grief. We attend services and provide Gold Star banners to our Blue Star Mothers who have lost a son or daughter while serving our country and provide on-going support.

Community Events

The Blue Star Mothers participate in many events throughout the year that provide support to the veterans in our communities and active duty service members. We plan events for Veterans Day, Memorial Day, support organizations who share our mission and more. We welcome new members and new ideas about how we can support our community and loved ones of active duty service members and veterans.
